Valentine’s Day is such a special opportunity to teach kids about God’s love for us! This year, we learned all about 1 Corinthians chapter 13. We talked about the attributes of love, how we can love others, and how Jesus perfectly embodies every attribute from 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.
After our lesson, it was time for a craft! I made this Valentine’s Day themed printable that looks just like a box of chocolates. The second page has individual candy shapes to color in, and each candy has an attribute of love from 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. The first step is to color in each of the pages. We learned that it is a good idea to color in the candies on the first page even though you are going to glue the candies from the other page on after you cut them out.
After you color everything in, then it is time to cut out the candies from page two. After they are cut out, go ahead and glue them on. Glue sticks work a lot better for this than liquid glue, especially with little kids!
After this, you are all done! I cut the bottom half of the second page out nicely and sent it home as a memory verse.
I also printed out the memory verse and attached it to a little toy to give to each child 🙂 This is included in the free printable at the end of this post!
